Prefer to pay a fixed amount monthly/weekly for your childcare?

This issue was raised at on my business course and can work well for some families. If you would prefer this option, then let me know and we can discuss if it is possible and what the regular payments would be. It is calculated over a 12 month period then divided by 12 or 52 to suit you. Direct debit payments and childcare vouchers are still also an option.

Babysitting in Kidderminster, Bewdley, Stourport, Wyre Forest

I also offer a babysitting service on an occasional basis. This is available at an hourly rate of £10 per hour (minumum 3 hour sessions) for up to 3 children in their own home, ( lower rates are available for regular/ long term contracts). This is entirely seperate to my Childminding practice and outside any hours currently used by childminded children and my aim whilst babysitting is to keep your children safe, comfortable and entertained only.

How childminders may set fees or charges?

It may be worth bearing in mind when selecting a  childminder, the costs incurred, in providing quality care for your child, and the fees you and other parents pay is gross income not gross or net pay/wages.

Unlike an employed child carer, a self-employed childminder not only has to meet the usual costs, tax , National insurance etc but also Public liability, Business house insurance,  Business car insurance, Ofsted registration fee, professional body membership, and Inland Revenue and Ofsted approved paperwork, all before actually earning anything.

In addition to basic business costs your childminder will probably have some if not all of the following additional demands on their gross fees, before they actually get a wage to take home/ pay their bills:- increased heating and lighting, additional cleaning products and toiletries.General resources, equipment, craft materials etc. New toys or baby equipment( many childminders only buy brand new resources eg car seats, cots, highchairs etc) also a large outlay. Ongoing training costs often hundreds per year. The balance of any food and drinks costs they may provide free or charge only a nominal charge for.

Some childminders, myself included do not ever ask for any extra day trip fees, unlike nurseries and schools, and trips to safari parks, soft play areas, zoo's farms, theme parks, all come from these fees.
